The Community Services Department directs the overall administration of the City maintenance program for facilities and properties, the Municipal Stables operations and all recreation services. Specifically, the Department’s maintenance division is responsible for the upkeep of public parks, parkways and equestrian trails, the Municipal Stables, flood control and other public facilities within the community.
Furthermore, the Community Services Department plans and coordinates a variety of recreational programs, including activities at the RHE Tennis Club, as well as such annual events as the Old-Fashioned City Celebration, The Hills Are Alive 10K/5K Run-5K Walk, Tracy Austin Doubles Tennis Tournament, and Peninsula Holiday Parade. Finally, the Department’s equestrian division operates the public riding rings and the Peter Weber Equestrian Center, and sponsors a variety of equestrian-related activities throughout the year.
