First Saturday Walk- Bring your children for an easy, educational hike.  Explore George F Canyon with PVPLC naturalists focus on a different aspect of the native habitat and wildlife that thrive there. All ages welcome. FREE!

Second Saturday Family Science & Storytime-Join us in the nature center for a hands-on science experience with one of the unique animal species that make this tree-lined canyon their home.  All ages welcome.  All ages welcome. FREE!

Third Saturday Family Volunteer Activity-Put on your grubbies and take part in a kid-friendly habitat restoration activity: plant seeds, care for native plants, and track wildlife.  Your little ones will begin to understand the role that they can play in nature conservation.  All ages welcome. FREE!

Bird Walk- Explore birds nesting in season at George F. Canyon. Come meet the Naturalist at the south parking lot of the Nature Center for early morning bird watching. Beginners welcome. Binoculars will be supplied.

Full Moon Hike- Explore nocturnal sights with an expert naturalist under a full moon at the George F Canyon Nature Preserve. 

Nature & Me Storytime- PVLD librarian Marisa Perley shares books that open children’s eyes to the natural world all around them. Ages 2-5. For more information email:  

Blue Butterflies and Bagels Breakfast - Celebrate the species of butterfly that lives nowhere else in the world but on the Peninsula! Enjoy a family friendly morning of art projects with Art To Grow On Children’s Art Center, storytelling, music, easy habitat restoration, and butterfly spotting. Reservations required. Golf Lessons- Adults, ages 18 and up, will receive six lessons at the Los Verdes Golf Course with Mike Buroza, PGA Class “A” Member. Small class instruction will benefit players at all levels. Golf balls and golf clubs included.

Dog Agility- Come play with your dog! Enjoy the sport of Dog Agility and learn to guide your dog through a course of obstacles.  One-hour classes will be offered for varying skill levels from Beginner to Advanced on Fridays at Ernie Howlett Park.  Please call (310) 200-0357 for more information about class levels and times. Pintsize Sports & Soccer- A perfect introduction to pre-school and elementary kids to a variety of sports in a positive and fun environment! Students learn the basic skills of soccer, hockey, basketball and tee-ball in Monday Pintsize Sports classes, while the Saturday soccer classes will focus on individual and team skills only. Both programs consist of warming up, stretching, and skill drills focusing on individual and team play. Your child will gain improved fitness, agility, stamina, and coordination. All equipment is provided.

Rally Obedience-Learn the AKC sport of Rally, where dog and handler work together to complete a course of stations that require teamwork and precision.  This 6-week course will introduce you to the station signs and teach you the skills needed to successfully compete in this AKC event.  This is a great way to build obedience skills and develop a stronger relationship with your canine companion.

The Wolf Within - Puppy, Basic & Advanced Dog Obedience Courses- Go beyond the typical training class!  World Class Dog Training’s 6-week obedience courses will cover all aspects of you canine’s well-being: nutrition, exercise, leadership, confidence, problem-solving skills and more.  Learn valuable tools and groundbreaking methods that originate from hands-on research of the ancestral wolf.  Our one-hour classes will be offered for all skill levels.
