South Bay Cities Council of Government's 19th Annual General Assembly
Friday, February 23, 2018
Dear Rolling Hills Estates Community Members:
The SBCCOG will be holding its 19th Annual General Assembly on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Carson Community Center in the Civic Center complex of the City of Carson. As a member of the South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG), I am personally inviting you to join me for a unique and special event.
This event is the SBCCOG’s one meeting of the year that all mayors and city council members, city staff and the community from our 16 member cities and the county are invited to attend. The event is scheduled from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (registration and exhibits open at 8:30 am) and includes a lunch. It is free but registration is required so that everyone can be accommodated.
This year’s program is titled “The Evolution of Retail and Its Challenges for Cities”. We are extremely excited that Larry Kosmont, President and CEO of Kosmont Companies, has helped us assemble speakers and panelists this year who are truly experts in their field. Besides discussing current and developing trends in retail, the topics will focus on what this all means to cities for land use, economic development, sustainability and city finances. Once again there will be a very active and informative exhibit hall with displays from our cities and sponsors. It promises to be a day filled with information and interesting demonstrations!
Also, our state and federal legislators have been invited to come as well as to have tables in the exhibit area. We are encouraging them to arrive between 8:30 and 9:45 am to talk one on one with attendees. Watch our website to see which legislators have confirmed.
Once again, please know that there is no charge for the event, but your RSVP is required so that we can be sure to accommodate everyone. Registration is on line at www.southbaycities.org
As a community member, I hope you will set aside the time to attend. I look forward to seeing you on February 23.
